Eat it Up, Celebrating Art & Food in LA

Some things you may want to do in LA next weekend.

Pacific Standard Time is a project of the Getty celebrating the birth of the LA art scene. The collaborative project focuses on LA art from 1945-1980 with art institutions all over the Southland. To celebrate many LA museums will be free on Sun., Oct 2.

From the Charles and Ray Eames’ living room installed at LACMA for the “Living in a Modern Way” show, to Beatrice Wood ceramics at the Santa Monica Museum of Art or catch the “Under the Big Black Sun” show at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.

Take a lunch or dinner break at one of the Dine LA restaurants. Dine LA’s restaurant week starts on Sunday with a prix fixe 3-course meal. Check out their website for participating restaurants and their menus. Sounds like a plan!

There’s more…

On-going at LACMA is the Tim Burton show.

Also, Cirque du Soleil’s new show “Iris” opened last weekend at the Kodak Theatre. It is a permanent show there except during Oscar season.

And the LA County Fair ends on Sunday!

P.S. Check out this video about the MOCA show with Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Anthony Kiedis and Venice artist Ed Ruscha taking a drive around LA.
